Van Gogh — Dance Performance in Prague

"Van Gogh" - a dance performance in which the painting turns into movement.

"Van Gogh" is a contemporary dance performance created by the European choreographer Viktor Davydiuk. The production combines classical ballet, contemporary dance and multimedia technologies, creating a visually impressive and emotionally powerful stage work. The project has already been shown throughout Europe and North America, confirming its international success, and in March the performance will be shown in the Czech Republic.

The basis of the performance is not the biography of Vincent van Gogh, but his inner world. Through movement, music and light, the artist's loneliness, emotional crises, tensions and obsession with creation are revealed, while the production works with feelings instead of facts and transforms the artist's experiences into a powerful stage experience.

The choreography combines neoclassical ballet, contemporary dance and elements of physical theater. The movement language is built on contrasts from subtle lyricism to sharp, almost nervous movements reflecting the inner state of the main character.

A significant role is played by the visual side of the performance, which includes multimedia projections inspired by Van Gogh's paintings, dynamic light score and scenography creating the effect of animated images. Thus, the viewer finds himself in a space where the painting turns into movement, and the stage becomes a continuation of the art world.

The musical score reinforces the dramaturgy and creates an atmosphere of tension and emotional depth that permeates the whole performance.

The project develops as an international production aimed at a wide audience and intended for both touring and festival context.

Viktor Davydiuk is a European choreographer working in the project model and creating authorial works on the border of ballet, contemporary dance and visual stage art. His work combines artistic quality with accessibility for a wide audience.
